We, as humans, love taking hemp derived CBD and we enjoy the many benefits it can provide to us. Did you know that your Pet can take CBD as well? Did you also know that most Pets have an Endocannabinoid System (ECS)? What is an ECS? Check out this blog for more information.
So how does CBD affect Pets? CBD can be taken by Pets for numerous reasons. According to GoodRX Health, the benefits of CBD and Pets include a range of conditions including easing hurting, lessening worry, and so much more.
While we as a company cannot make any claims about the conditions that Pet CBD can help, there is a lot of information out there detailing the exact effects of CBD and Pets. It’s always good to check with your veterinarian to see if CBD can work for your Pet. We also recommend starting at a low portion when first giving CBD to your furry little friend and going from there. There’s more information on serving size below!
Other Cannabinoids for Pets
We also want you to know that not all Cannabinoids are equal when it comes to Pets! THC is not great for your domesticated animal and should not be ingested by them. According to ASPCA, “[Pets] can have difficulty walking and maintaining their balance when ingesting THC. Other symptoms include: Glassy eyes and dilated pupils, Hyperactivity, Vocalization, Drooling, Vomiting, Urinary incontinence and more. THC exposure can also affect their heart rate and body temperature. In severe cases, it can cause tremors, seizures, and coma.” Yikes. That is scary! You do not want your Pet taking THC for any reason.
Lucky for you, our Pet Tincture is a CBD Isolate which means it contains only CBD. We make sure that our CBD Isolate product has no THC in it. We want to ensure that your cat, dog, or other animal is taken care of when it comes to CBD. There is just one cannabinoid produced in our Tincture so we do not include any toxic elements for your Pet.
Being Away From Your Pet
You probably don’t want to be away from your Pet just as much as they don’t want you to leave! Sometimes our little friends start to worry when their owner isn’t right next to them. Using a portion of our Tincture can allegedly mellow out your Pet and get used to being by themselves.
Getting a Little Nap Time with Pet CBD
A healthy dog should receive about 12 – 14 hours or sleep per day. Pets can toss and turn and not get a full night’s sleep because they may feel discomfort or sometimes it just takes a while to get comfortable and head to sleep. Pets absolutely love to try our Tincture right before bed so that they can rest easy. Studies have shown that CBD can possibly help your little friend fall asleep quicker and have a more relaxing overall experience.
Overall Wellness and Pet CBD
CBD allegedly can help Pets with so many other different issues as well. Some Pets may itch a lot, have allergies, feel general discomfort, or just need an extra boost for their day. All of these are reasons our customers have used our Pet Tincture in the past.
Salmon Oil in Pet CBD
A lot of our competitors put artificial sweeteners and other compounds in their CBD products for Pets that are not necessary. Our Tincture is simple and contains just 2 ingredients. We also include Salmon Oil in our Tinctures for a tasty treat for your little friend. Salmon oil contains Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. These acids are known to have a lot of purported health benefits in humans and animals. They have been known to support immune health, heart health, and a healthy skin and coat. Salmon oil is a lot better for your Pet as opposed to other sweeteners which could be harmful to them.
Best Ways to Ingest
We have heard from all different owners on the best way to give CBD to your Pets. Since our Tincture comes in a small pumpable bottle, it is super easy to serve your Pet. Owners can put the Tincture in their Pet’s food, on a treat, or pump it directly into their mouth. Pets tend to love the taste of our Tincture, so a lot of our customers put it directly into their food or water. The pumpable bottle also makes it easy to hold your Pet’s mouth open as you are serving them.
Serving Size
We recommend 2 pumps for small dogs, 3 pumps for medium, 4 pumps for large, and 5 pumps for extra large dogs. While your Pet can’t necessarily take too much CBD, it’s not a great idea to go over the serving size as this can lead to unwanted effects such as lethargy, drowsiness, and nausea.
Can Humans Take Pet CBD?
Yes, our Tinctures are human grade, however you definitely would have to like the taste of salmon if you wanted to try our Pet Tincture! Personally, not for me, I would go for one of our other tinctures that are flavored for human consumption.
What Pets Can Have CBD?
Of course cats and dogs being the most owned animals, they tend to be our biggest audience. However we have customers who use our CBD Tincture on their birds, reptiles, and more. We even had a client who used our Tincture on her snake after he was wounded and said the snake was back to normal after a few days.
Always consult with your veterinarian before using any of our products to make sure CBD is right for your Pet. Again, we recommend you do even more research when it comes to CBD for your companion and finding out if CBD is right for your Pet.
